After flying off shelves and causing chaos online last year, the much-loved 'Ki Kaha te Reo Māori' range of clothing is set to go on sale again.
Just in time for Waitangi Day, The Warehouse will be stocking "even more gears", featuring bucket hats and basketball singlets alongside the hoodie and track pants got snapped up so fast in 2024.
There will also be new kākahu (clothing) for pēpi and tamariki, as well as updated styles like crew neck sweaters.
Te Taura Whiri i te reo Māori (the Māori Language Commission) said last year's response to the range "proved what we know, New Zealanders are proud to show their love for Te Reo and they want opportunities to do so."
"We heard you, Aotearoa,” said Ngahiwi Apanui-Barr.
The range will be available online and in all 88 stores across the motu from Friday 31 January at 8am.
Prices start at $10 for a baby onesie through to $35 for adult hoodies, and all feature the slogan 'Ake Ake Ake – A Forever Language'.
Troy Rawhiti-Connell, the Māori Development Lead at The Warehouse, says customers gave feedback via social media about products and colourways they were keen to see next time, and that has all been taken on board.
“It’s rare to see such overwhelming support for a kākahu collection. When people told us they wanted more, we went straight into planning with Te Taura Whiri. We can’t wait to share the latest range," he said.
“The range is another way for The Warehouse to ‘walk our talk’ in terms of aroha for Te Reo. Alongside our bilingual in-store signage and bilingually branded products, it all goes towards making Te Reo a normal part of life for all New Zealanders.”
