2Pac murder suspect Keffe D facing new charges after brawl in jail - report

The former gangster said he was "just standing his ground".

Things are going from bad to worse for Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, who's now facing a new battery charge after an alleged fight with a fellow prisoner. The ex-gangster is currently facing murder charges for the 1996 death of Tupac Shakur and has been in custody at Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

According to TMZ, Keffe and an unnamed inmate engaged in “mutual combat,” which involved grappling, closed-fist strikes, and Keffe putting the other inmate in a headlock. The brawl was broken up when a corrections officer used pepper spray.

Keffe now faces an additional $50,000 bail for the new battery charge, on top of the $750,000 bail set for the murder charge.

He reportedly told an officer that he was “just standing his ground”.

In September 2023 a raid on Keffe's Nevada home found items related to 2Pac, including photo albums and magazines.

Keffe's 2019 autobiography, 'Compton Street Legend', which describes his interpretation of what happened during and leading up to 2Pac's murder, was also discovered in the home.

Keffe has maintained he was one of the four individuals in the white Cadillac alongside Suge Knight's car when 2Pac was shot.

He has accused his late nephew, Orlando Anderson, of firing the shots. In a bombshell revelation last year in an audio recording, Keffe claimed that Sean 'Diddy' Combs brokered a $1 million contract to have both 2Pac and Suge Knight killed.

In June of last year, Keffe attempted to get his case dismissed, citing 'immunity deals' he had reached with local authorities years ago, but his bid was denied.

The Clark County District Court Judge said earlier this month that Keffe had provided no proof of any immunity deals and "the state of Nevada has never offered" him a deal. The new trial starts March 17th, with Keffe D pleading not guilty to first-degree murder. I will keep you all updated as this progresses!
