US actress Jessica Alba was at the centre of a very distressing mystery after reports resurfaced about her unsolved kidnapping as a teen.
Back in 1996, while filming the TV show ‘Flipper’ in Australia, 15-year-old Alba mysteriously vanished from the set.
The alleged kidnapping - which Alba has never publically mentioned - prompted a 14-hour-long search by friends, family and crew.
When she was finally found, it’s said Alba was tied up, blindfolded and gagged in the boot of car, an odd distance away from where she was filming.
According to Mamamia.com in 2022, Alba had been getting creepy, anonymous phone calls leading up to her disappearance.
At first, she brushed them off as prank calls - but it was later questioned whether they may have been linked to the incident.
Despite the concerning nature of the phone calls, no solid evidence connecting the two ever surfaced.
With no suspects, no clear motive, barely any forensic evidence and Alba being unable to provide many details on her abductors, police and investigators were left with little to go on.
After months of searching for leads, the case eventually closed without resolution.
Alba continued her role on ‘Flipper’ until 1997 before moving on to films like ‘Never Been Kissed’, ‘Idle Hands’ and most famously ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Sin City’.
Reports of Alba’s alleged kidnapping have resurfaced amid her decision to split from her long-term husband Cash Warren.
Alba shared a statement, writing, "I've been on a journey of self-realisation and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash.
"I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.
"We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be a family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time."
Alba is known for keeping the details of her private life quiet.
