NZ Comedian Rose Matafeo 'looks forward' to hosting new 'Taskmaster' spin-off for kids

"I am greatly looking forward to the power going to my head."

New Zealand’s own funny gal Rose Matafeo is set to host a junior version of the UK hit show ‘Taskmaster’.

This new spin-off is set to hit UK screens on November 8th, featuring Rose alongside her British comedian assistant Mike Wozniak.

Together, they’ll lead 25 contestants aged nine to eleven through a series of hilarious challenges.

The young contestants will have their humour and creativity put to the test in tasks similar to the popular adult version of the show. According to TV Zone UK, the tasks have been designed “to encourage wit, creativity, and athleticism”.

Each challenge will push these kids to think outside the box.

Throughout the series, Rose will set specific tasks for the juniors, who will battle it out in five heats. The best young contestants will advance to two semi-finals before only five young'uns compete in a grand final to take the series win.

The new show is said to feature a brand new house, shed, caravan and lab from what we are familiar with.

In a statement to TV Zone UK, Rose expressed her excitement about her new role, saying: “To be appointed as Junior Taskmaster is one of the greatest honours of my already wildly successful career.”

I am greatly looking forward to the power going to my head.

While we're unsure if the show will air in NZ anytime soon, we definitely have our fingers and toes crossed for it to make its way to our screens.
