It started in the UK with Ricky Gervais, kept our attention in the US with Steve Carrell, and now it's made its way down under - The Office Australia is coming.
Nevermind Wernham Hogg and Dunder Mifflin, this time we're a fly on the wall at Sydney packing company Flinley Craddick, and Hannah Howard is the new bumbling boss.
Aussie comic Felicity Ward says she's "never been so excited to play an optimist incompetent trapped in her own delulu".
“Hannah Howard is every bit the disappointment of a boss we’d all hope she’d be," she added in a statement.
A bunch of Kiwi faces also join the fray, including Josh Thompson as Martin Katavake, head of human resources, Jonny Brugh as Lloyd Kneath, head of IT, Edith Poor as Lizzie Moyle, receptionist, front desk executive and productivity manager and Lucy Schmidt as Deborah Leonard, head of finance.
Kiwi film director and TV writer Jackie Van Beek is one of the show's executive producers, alongside Australia's Julie De Fina.
The latest iteration of the show looks to give a nod to the 'work from home' era born out of the pandemic, centering around boss Hannah's panic when she hears from head office that her branch is shutting down and all staff will work remotely.
"She goes into survival mode, making promises she can’t keep in order to keep her 'work family' together," a blurb for the show reads.
"The staff of Flinley Craddick indulge her and must endure Hannah’s outlandish plots as they work toward the impossible targets that have been set for them."
It's the first time The Office format has been created with a female boss - a move that BBC Studios ANZ's general manager Kylie Washington says is well overdue.
"Having our first female boss wasn’t just about a gender flip, it’s about looking at the whole workplace through the lens of a female boss," she said in a statement. "It’s certainly time!”
The Office Australia is actually the 13th version of the show, which has been remade in France, Canada, Chile, the Middle East, India and Poland, to name a few.
The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 18.
