New Zealand treasure Patrick Gower was treated to a special performance at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and Kiwis can’t get enough of his reaction.
Paddy wrapped up his 14-show tour with a performance at Waitangi inside Te Whare Runanga. While he knew the stop was important, he didn’t expect it to turn into “the time of [his] life.”
“I did not expect this to happen when I visited Whare Runanga before my show,” Paddy shared on Instagram.
“I made new friends at lunch in Paihia, went to see them perform at Waitangi Treaty Grounds afterwards, and they called me up as a ‘special guest.’ And this happened. 🤣”
Paddy was brought to the front of the stage during the taiaha demonstration, and as the group closed in on him, he forgot to breathe for a moment.
“Oh my God,” Paddy blurted out with a giggle from the crowd.
“C’mon Paddy breathe… Breathe,” someone said from the side of the stage.
“Oh yeah, I didn’t wanna breathe while it was happening,” he joked.
Fans loved seeing Paddy embrace the Māori performance.
“Wow, that is definitely special ❤️❤️❤️,” one commenter wrote.
Another added, “🙌🙌. I don’t know why, but this is so fascinating, funny, and kind of cute!! 😍.”
After the show, Paddy shared a heartfelt thank you message on social media.
“Waitangi. A great honour to perform inside Te Whare Runanga. It just felt right to do the last show at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds,” he wrote.
Plenty of laughs and important messages to share.
Once again, Patrick Gower, you never fail to make us love you more!
