'Woolsheds: The Historic Shearing Sheds of Aotearoa New Zealand' is a new book by Dr Annette O'Sullivan and Jane Ussher who delve into the rich history of New Zealand's wool sheds, inspired by Annette's PhD on sheep station branding.
Through collaboration with station owners, the duo uncovered 15 unique sheds, each chosen for its originality, family legacy, and captivating stories.
The pair talk about discovering the history of wool sheds across New Zealand and how much they learnt while creating the book.
"We wanted to capture the essence of New Zealand's rural past," Dr O'Sullivan shares.
Ussher also explains how they came together to create this collaborative effort, with O'Sullivan reaching out to her for her visual expertise.
