WATCH: Busking drummer unknowingly performs RHCP track for Chad Smith

Couldn't have asked for a better audience member.

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith did a little roaming around and took a moment to watch a busker jamming to “Otherside.”

Unknowingly, the busker was performing for a solo audience of just Chad, who had parked himself on the concrete stairs just meters away from the drum kit, quietly appreciating the talent.

“Who wants to tell him,” the passerby who captured the moment captioned the video.

The TikToker compared it to “shooting hops in front of Michael Jordan and not realising”.

Commenters were astonished that the drummer didn’t recognize the legend sitting opposite him.

“Just casually playing for one of the best drummers,” one person said.

Another added: “Bro has one man listening but still the biggest audience.”

“There’s no way he’s playing an RHCP song and didn’t notice the only dude sitting watching him was Chad Smith himself,” wrote a third.

Others commented on how much of a compliment it is to have the artist admiring your talent.

One commenter said: “The fact that Chad Smith is just sitting there vibing is just about the biggest compliment you could ask for. Bro, good job.”

“Chad Smith is an excellent drummer himself, so to see him bobbing his head while you play the drums is the biggest compliment,” a second chimed in.

A third added: “This is how you know Chad Smith is just a pure music lover.”

According to the bloke who posted the video, Chad left the performance to shop with his family.

“I had to let the drummer know, of course,” he said. “Once I showed him the video, I took him to where Chad was.”

This isn’t the first time the Chili Peppers drummer made a surprise appearance during a busker’s performance.

Back in 2016, as part of a photo shoot for the September 2016 issue of the U.K.'s Rhythm magazine, Chad busked himself in the middle of a busy London street.

Right, what are the odds I hit the streets with a drum kit to catch Chad Smith’s attention? The chances might be slim, but never zero!
