Serj Tankian drops powerful new track that's sending 'shivers down' fans spines

“It is music that traverses multiple eras."

Rock legend and System of a Down’s front man, Serj Tankian, is back at it, dropping the music video for his latest single 'Life's Revengeful Son', out today.

The track is part of his new ‘FOUNDATIONS EP’ and is a stunning blend of acoustic and electric guitars, layered with some big orchestration in the back.

Kicking off with line: “The final revolution will occur when the arms of the clock fall,” this one hits deep. It’s the EP’s final track, packing both powerful visuals and lyrics into just under five minutes.

‘FOUNDATIONS’, is made up of five tracks. Critics have already rated it highly, with Blabbermouth giving it a 9/10 star review.

“[The EP] shows why Tankian is considered one of his generation's great songwriters,” they wrote.

Fans are all over it too, reacting to the track on Serj’s socials.

“Great song, great voice, great guitar🔥,” wrote one fan on Serj’s Instagram.

“Protect Serj’s vocal cords at all costs ✊,” another wrote under the music video on YouTube.

A third added: “Serj's voice always sends shivers down my spine.”

The songs on the EP include, ‘A.F. Day’, ‘Justice Will Shine On’, ‘Appropriations’, ‘Cartoon Buyer’ and, of course, ‘Life's Revengeful Son’.

“It is music that traverses multiple eras and vast swaths of emotions. It is also very much a rock album – 'music of rebellion’,” says Tankian.

Songs like ‘A.F. Day’ and ‘Justice Will Shine On’ address the themes of justice and personal history, including the Armenian Genocide.

And don’t think he’s slowing down. Tankian’s hinting at more projects, maybe even some epic collabs and covers on the way.

He says: “I’m always moving in different directions. Repetition is boring, and the death of art.”
