Transforming New Zealand Agribusiness: Ian Proudfoot On The Common Ground Initiative

"If we can do more collaboration, we can go further, faster, and hopefully unlock greater value for New Zealand," he notes.

This week a new partnership between KPMG New Zealand and AGMARDT called 'The Common Ground' has officially launched.

KPMG New Zealand's Head of Agribusiness Ian Proudfoot explains how this innovative platform aims to tackle the pressing 'wicked problems' in New Zealand's food and fibre sector, from climate change to talent acquisition.

Proudfoot emphasises the need for a culture of collaboration to overcome industry fragmentation and hopes this will invite stakeholders to engage in shaping a more unified and prosperous future for New Zealand's agricultural industry.

He says the initiative encourages organisations to think collectively rather than working in silos, addressing issues like the pervasive lack of trust and the overwhelming number of industry-good organisations.
