Here's how to find your TikTok wrapped - if you're brave enough to face your scroll time

Prepare for the jump scare of your life, when you find out how many days you've given to the app.

We’re all patiently waiting for the odd yet intensely intriguing Year in Review. Whether it’s Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music, dating apps, or even TikTok, we’re dying to know what our habits reveal about us.

Turns out, you can decode how many videos you’ve watched, how many watch sessions you’ve spent doom-scrolling storytimes, whacky food ideas, and Moo Deng clips (IYKYK). Plus, it shows the average time you spend per session and your total watch time, calculated into days...

I’m quite genuinely fearing I’m going to need a social media detox after diving into this!

The idea of a TikTok Wrapped came from a brilliant yet mysterious internet user last year. Once you’ve built up the courage to face your fate, you need to download your data from TikTok first.

How to find out your TikTok Wrapped stats:

  • Open TikTok and go to your profile

  • Click on the three lines in the top right corner

  • Go to your ‘Settings and privacy’

  • Choose ‘Account’

  • Tap ‘Download your data’

  • ‘Select file format’ change to ‘JSON’ and then hit ‘Done’

  • Press ‘Request Data’

It might take a minute or two, but once your file is ready you can download it to your files. Head to the Wrapped for TikTok website and click ‘Start now’, select ‘I have my TikTok file’ and you're away!

Look, I know uploading your data to a third-party site seems like a bit of a red flag, but the website assures users it’s totally safe.

“Your TikTok data is only used in your browser and never uploaded to any server. We will not store or process your data on our server in any way,” it says.

I gave it a go myself and compared my stats to some of the more shocking ones I’ve seen online.

Turns out, I’ve watched 20,196 videos over a total watch time of 16,224 minutes – that’s 11 whole days. I’ve wasted nearly two weeks of my life on this app, but that’s nothing compared to this girl who spent nearly a whole month of her year scrolling.

Apparently, my most active weekday is Monday, so there’s that. If my boss is reading this, please know it’s all for research purposes – I swear. It’s not just because Mondays SUCK!

To top it off, your Wrapped video finishes by telling you what you could have achieved during the time you gave yourself brainrot.

I could have decluttered my whole house, which honestly gave me a jump scare because I’ve been putting that task off for months. Scrolling through TikTok for organisational tips counts though, right?

Right, please go check yours and let me know how you compare. Surely, I’m not the only one regretting my screen time.
