New Zealand Dairy Scores Big With UAE Trade Deal

"This agreement provides certainty for our exporters to invest in those relationships further and continue growing that trade," Crewther notes.

The Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand is welcoming the announcement of a trade agreement between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and New Zealand that is set to eliminate all dairy tariffs from day one.

Executive Director Kimberly Crewther breaks down this groundbreaking deal, worth $700 million in dairy exports, primarily involving milk powders, butter, and cheese.

She says the deal not only boosts New Zealand’s dairy sector but also sets a high standard for future trade agreements.

Crewther emphasises the broader implications, including ongoing negotiations with the GCC to enhance market access.
